Alipay's AI Assistant Abao Adds Fliggy Flight and Ticket Booking
Fliggy has integrated its flight, attraction ticket and Marriott membership services into Abao, the AI version of Alipay, letting users complete bookings through a single spoken instruction. Hotel booking and account linking are planned next.
For flight bookings, a user can tell Abao something like "next Friday, Shanghai to Chengdu, book me a discounted Fliggy ticket." According to Leiphone, Abao identifies the cities, dates and the request for a lower price, then calls Fliggy's services through MCP, or Model Context Protocol, and returns a result card with recommended options and the reasons behind them. Tapping the card takes the user to the Fliggy mini program inside Alipay to complete the order. If the user supplies only a destination and no travel date, Abao asks a follow-up question to fill in the missing information. Ticket booking for scenic spots works the same way, the report said.
Fliggy's Marriott flagship store has also been connected to Abao, extending membership registration and benefits inquiries to the conversational interface. A user who says "register me for Marriott membership" receives registration and benefits information in the chat and can enter the membership center of the Fliggy Marriott flagship store mini program to finish signing up. Existing Marriott members can also check their membership tier and accumulated Marriott points through Abao.
Fliggy and Abao plan to move toward linked accounts, which would let users see Fliggy member-exclusive prices directly inside the conversation. Hotel booking capability within Abao is also scheduled to go live soon, allowing users to move from searching hotel information into the booking process, according to Leiphone.
The report did not specify a launch date for the account-linking or hotel-booking features, nor did it give pricing details or the scope of the Marriott integration.
