Google Tests New Circular Visualizer for Gemini Live
Google is testing a circular Gemini Live visualizer, Android Authority reports; it is unfinished with no rollout date.
Android Authority said it enabled the new interface manually in version 17.70.10.ve.arm64 of the Google app. The outlet described the look as inspired by Google’s Neural Expressive design language, which it has previously reported uses glowing gradients, animated elements and a cleaner layout in the Gemini app. The new Gemini Live interface appears to extend that style to the conversational assistant’s audio visualizer.
Screenshots published by Android Authority compared the current visualizer with the potential new design across several screens. In the new version, the pill shape is gone, replaced by a floating circular element with surrounding dots. The outlet said the dots appear to warp the space around them, similar to a black hole, and called the effect striking but still in need of polishing.
The animations are not final, according to the report. Android Authority said there are clear visual glitches in the interface, though it noted that it had to enable the redesign manually, which makes rough edges less surprising. The report said no functional changes were spotted and the redesign appears to be cosmetic only.
Google may not release this version. Android Authority said the company could proceed with the Neural Expressive-inspired design, switch to a waveform-based redesign the outlet uncovered earlier this month, or use something else it has not found yet. Earlier this month, Android Authority reported an early look at a Gemini Live redesign with a waveform animation and a dedicated button to mute Gemini’s voice responses.
