Anker Prime 200W GaN Charging Station Cut to $56 at Amazon
Anker’s Prime 200W GaN charging station, rated 4.5 stars by TechRadar, is discounted to $56 at Amazon and £55 in the UK.
TechRadar’s review said the charger delivers 200W of total power across six USB ports, with individual USB-C ports capable of up to 100W. It uses GaN technology, includes temperature monitoring and a five-foot power cord, and is designed as a desktop charger rather than a travel model. It weighs 1.24lb, and Anker does not include USB charging cables in the box. The 200W figure is the charger’s total available output, not the amount every connected device can receive at once; power distribution depends on which ports are used and how many devices are connected, TechRadar reported.
In his four-and-a-half-star review, TechRadar expert Harry said, “Charging products really don’t get much better than the Anker Prime Charger (200W, 6 ports, GaN). This charging station boasts high power output, multiple port types and quality design, all at a fantastic price-point.” He added, “There’s no display here, as seen with some of the other Anker Prime products, but otherwise this is a near-perfect station that will fulfil all your charging needs.” He also said he would recommend it to anyone looking to take their charging game to the next level.
The discount is not the lowest price TechRadar has seen for the charger. It sold for $49.99 last year, meaning the current Amazon deal is $6 above that previous low. Still, the publication said the reduction from $79.99 to $55.99 saves $24, or 30%, and represents excellent value for a high-powered desktop charger that passed its office tests. In the UK, the 200W fast charger is down to £55 from £70.
TechRadar’s buying advice says the Anker Prime 200W Charging Station is suited to users whose desks are cluttered with separate chargers for laptops, phones, tablets and other devices, because one unit can power as many as six devices and free up wall sockets. It advises skipping the charger for buyers who want something to carry around, citing its 1.24lb weight and Anker’s description of it as a desktop model. Smaller GaN chargers are a better choice for travel, the publication said.
