Doubao Work Adds Local Office Editing, Browser Recording and Replay, Task Environment Switching

Doubao Work adds local Office editing, browser recording and replay, and task environment switching for complex office tasks.

The local Office editing feature is now fully available on Doubao Work. It is designed to address coordination between AI and local files. Users can choose files through a side workbench, or right-click local PPT and Excel files to call Doubao for processing. Files generated or modified by AI can still be edited locally, and saved changes are synchronized both online and locally. The feature currently supports PPT and Excel files, with Word-related capabilities to be launched later.

Browser recording and replay targets web operation scenarios. After installing the latest Doubao PC version, users can demonstrate an operation once through the Doubao browser. Doubao learns steps such as clicking, filling in forms and uploading files, and organizes the process into a reusable Skill. It also records invocation conditions, required inputs and result verification methods. In a product listing example, a user completes operations including filling in product information, setting prices and shipping fees, and uploading images; Doubao then generates a corresponding Skill for repeated use later. The feature currently supports operations within the Doubao browser, and Doubao Work says it will cover more PC scenarios in the future.

Doubao Work also added free switching of task execution environments. Users can switch between a local computer and a cloud computer while a task is in progress without creating a new conversation or interrupting the existing one, which avoids loss of context caused by changing the operating environment. Through cross-device scheduling, users can issue operation instructions from one logged-in computer to other logged-in devices, call files and computing power on those devices, and enable task relay across multiple computers.

For office productivity scenarios, Doubao Work previously supported mobile remote control, cloud computers, Windows virtual desktops, Mac computer operation, multiple Agents in parallel and work partners. The latest update adds local file editing, personalized process reuse and cross-environment scheduling. According to Lei Feng News, these capabilities are meant to allow AI to move further into real office scenarios and help users complete complex work.
