Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo Drops to $369 in Limited-Time Multi-Color 3D Printer Sale

Elegoo has cut the US price of its Centauri Carbon 2 Combo multi-color 3D printer to $369 from $449 and the UK price to £329 from £398 for a limited time. TechRadar rates the enclosed CoreXY machine 4.5 stars and calls it its favorite budget multi-color printer.

TechRadar said the discount is the lowest price it has found for the four-color printer and matches a previous $369 deal from June. The optional Centauri Series Accessory Kit is also reduced, to $30 from $59.99 in the US and to £40.79 from £67.99 in the UK when bought as an add-on.

In a 4.5-star review, TechRadar expert Alastair said the Carbon 2 Combo 'impresses, offering one of the cheapest and most reliable multifilament machines on the market.' He added that it 'stands alongside some of the market leaders' and, because it can handle engineering materials and has a fully enclosed environment, is 'one of the best-value 3D printers on the market.'

The printer uses Elegoo's CANVAS system to print with up to four colors without manual filament changes during a print. It has a 350°C hardened-steel nozzle, automatic calibration, Wi-Fi, an enclosed chamber and a build volume of 256 x 256 x 256mm. Elegoo lists support for PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA, as well as PC, PA and fiber-reinforced filaments.

Elegoo quotes a maximum printing speed of 500mm/s, though TechRadar said the recommended speed is 250mm/s and described the higher figure as the printer's upper limit rather than the speed expected for every model and material. The machine measures 500 x 480 x 743mm and weighs 19.35kg, requiring a sizable, sturdy surface.

TechRadar said buyers who mainly produce very large models should consider a large-format printer instead, because the 256 x 256 x 256mm build volume may require bigger prints to be divided into multiple pieces. For users moving beyond single-color printing without spending heavily on a multicolor setup, TechRadar listed the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo as a buy.
