HakuX Xbox Emulator for Android Gets Major Performance Upgrade With v1.0.0 and v1.1.0

HakuX v1.0.0 and v1.1.0 add major performance gains for original Xbox emulation on Android, including budget hardware.

The release was published on GitHub by the emulator’s developer. Android Authority reported that the new versions also improve support for non-Snapdragon processors.

A central change in v1.0.0 is that HakuX is no longer based on Xemu’s CPU technology. The app now uses the FEX tool to translate x86 CPU instructions to Arm, and the developer claims that the Xbox kernel is reimplemented natively.

Android Authority said original Xbox emulators for Android had been scarce until earlier this year. In March, the X1 Box app appeared, based on the PC Xemu emulator, and it was quickly followed by HakuX, a forked Android app.
