T-Mobile's T-Mix Plans to Launch in November With Interchangeable Perks
T-Mobile's T-Mix plans launch in early November, replacing Mobile Experience with customizable perks.
Existing T-Mobile Experience 2.0 plans will no longer be available to new customers, but current customers on those plans will be allowed to keep them. T-Mix accounts with multiple lines will follow a one-plan-fits-all policy: individual family members cannot maintain their own plans, and everyone on the account must agree on a T-Mix base plan. Customers can choose from Standard, More and Loaded plans.
The Standard plan includes 50GB of high-speed 5G data, unlimited hotspot data at 3G speeds, unlimited international data in Canada and Mexico at 2G speeds, unlimited texting in more than 215 countries and streaming resolution up to 480p. Without fees or taxes, Standard pricing starts at $55 for one line, $85 for two lines and $100 for three lines; each additional line costs $15, with a maximum of 12 lines per T-Mobile account.
The More plan offers unlimited data, 60GB of high-speed hotspot data, 15GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico, up to 5GB of high-speed data when traveling internationally and streaming resolution up to 4K. The Loaded plan includes data, up to 250GB of hotspot data, 30GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico, up to 15GB of high-speed data when traveling and up to 4K streaming. Loaded customers can also connect a cellular-enabled device, such as a smartwatch or tablet, for $5 per item. T-Mobile says the More and Loaded plans will cost more per line.
All three plans include unlimited texting in more than 215 countries, long-distance calling at $0.50 per minute and T-Mobile's Basic Scam Shield service. Financing options are comparable across the plans: customers can finance a new phone through T-Mobile's Classic 24-month term or the Flex 36-month commitment.
T-Mobile's Picks option works like a currency, with different perks assigned a pick value. Two picks can get an Apple Music subscription or Google AI Pro, while one pick can get Netflix with ads. The most premium benefits, such as ESPN Unlimited and Netflix without ads, cost three or four picks. Customers can also use picks for T-Mobile's own services; T-Satellite, for example, can be activated with one pick.
Customers can skip perks to get discounts on a new device, costing between one and three picks, though that option automatically uses the Flex 36-month financing terms. T-Mobile says T-Mix offers no fixed bundles or wasted benefits and gives customers freedom to choose how the value in their wireless plan works for them. The company also says the perks depend on its business partners and can change over time.
