Copilot Money launches AI-powered Money Assistant for iPhone
Copilot Money launched Money Assistant, an AI agent that answers finance questions, fixes transactions and sets budgets.
Copilot Money, which runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and the web, connects to thousands of financial institutions and brings together accounts, spending, savings goals and investments. Money Assistant works in the background, according to the report. It can take actions such as recategorizing a transaction or matching a refund, and it produces a daily briefing listing category fixes, matched refunds and flagged charges. It also offers personalized suggestions to keep budgets and categories accurate as spending changes.
Users can start a chat from anywhere in the app. According to 9to5Mac, the assistant draws on the user's financial data in Copilot Money when responding, and users can ask follow-up questions and have it take action. Sample questions include where to cut spending, how much has been spent on groceries versus restaurants this year, whether next month's expenses can be covered, which credit card to use for a hotel booking, and what made their Apple stock rise this week.
The assistant is also positioned for longer-term questions, such as whether a user is on track to retire in 10 years, how to pay down student loans faster, how to plan to buy a home next year, how to grow net worth to $200,000 in two years, or whether a move to New York City next month is affordable. From within a chat, users can edit categories, budgets, transactions and recurring charges, the report said. They can customize how the assistant communicates and choose a 'roast mode' that gives blunt feedback on their finances.
Money Assistant now guides onboarding, analyzing data and surfacing insights once accounts are connected. It can create a starting budget and select categories worth tracking. Copilot Money said privacy remains a core principle: the app has no ads, does not sell data and has no hidden partnerships. Data is not used to train third-party AI models, and user data remains the user's, according to the report.
Copilot Money is an Apple Editors' Choice app and an Apple Design Awards finalist, with a 4.8 rating from more than 31,000 App Store reviews, 9to5Mac reported. The app is used by members of the 9to5Mac team. The company is offering 9to5Mac readers a two-month free trial with the code 9TO5MAC.
