TechRadar Publishes Sept. 11 Answers for Connections, Strands and Quordle
TechRadar's Sept. 11 guides reveal answers for NYT Connections #1188, NYT Strands #922 and Quordle #1691.
In Connections #1188, the yellow group was People Hired for an Event: BAND, FLORIST, PHOTOGRAPHER and PLANNER. The green group was Internalize: ABSORB, DIGEST, PROCESS and TAKE IN. The blue group was Ways to Practice Self-Care: EXERCISE, JOURNAL, MEDITATE and UNPLUG. The purple group was Things That Are Pushed Metaphorically: AGENDA, ENVELOPE, LIMITS and LUCK. TechRadar rated the puzzle Hard and recorded one mistake, after initially linking DIGEST, JOURNAL, AGENDA and PLANNER as forms of written documentation. The guide said Connections asks players to sort 16 words into four groups of four, with green considered easy, yellow a little harder, blue often tough and purple usually very difficult. Players can make up to four mistakes, and the game is free through the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
For NYT Strands #922, the theme was Harbor view. The answers were BRIDGE, BARGE, SHIP, DOCK, PIER and LIGHTHOUSE, and the spangram was ONTHEWATERFRONT. TechRadar rated it Easy and recorded a Perfect score. The guide said the spangram had 15 letters and touched the left side at the eighth row and the right side at the fifth row. Clue words included BRAID, WATER, DATE, THOSE, COAT and POKER. Strands is the NYT's latest word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee and Connections and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
Quordle #1691 had the answers PLUSH, PAINT, RIVAL and AFOUL. The Daily Sequence answers were GRADE, JOLLY, PESTO and SMELL. The hints said there were four different standard vowels, no repeated letters, and no Q, Z, X or J. Two answers started with the same letter, with the starting letters being P, P, R and A. TechRadar's solver said he made a ridiculous mistake by guessing 'pinta' instead of PAINT. Quordle was one of the original Wordle alternatives and is still running more than 1,500 games later.
TechRadar also maintains daily coverage of other word games, including Wordle, and links its Connections, Strands and Quordle pages to one another for readers seeking hints and answers. Its Sept. 11 guides were published within seconds of one another. For Thursday, Sept. 10, TechRadar listed Connections #1187 answers that included ACTINIUM, KRYPTON, LEAD and SULFUR; CATIO, CLOTHESLINE, FLOWER BOX and AIR CONDITIONER; Bruce Springsteen classics; and terms ending in synonyms for 'happening now.' The previous day's Strands answers were CROWN, MEDAL, PRIZE, TROPHY, LAURELS and PENNANT, with the spangram WEHAVEAWINNER. Quordle #1690 answers were AGENT, EXILE, TITAN and PUREE.
