Tineco Launches $1,199 Floor One Station S9 Scientist Pro Wet-Dry Vacuum in US
Tineco has launched the Floor One Station S9 Scientist Pro in the US at $1,199, a wet-dry vacuum with up to 25,000 Pa suction, long battery life and a base that auto-refills water and solution, according to TechRadar.
TechRadar's review said the vacuum has suction power up to 25,000 Pa and can pick up fine material such as flour in a single pass and large debris such as 8-12 leaves in less than a minute. It offers four cleaning modes, including a dirt detect mode, and can lie 180 degrees flat to reach under furniture. The review said edge cleaning along the front reaches about one-half to one-eighth of an inch.
Battery life is listed at 65-75 minutes in Auto mode and up to 100 minutes in Quiet mode, though TechRadar's verdict cited 65-70 minutes. The review said the vacuum uses hot water to clean while continuously washing the brushroll as it mops, and a streak-free scraper helps prevent water streaks or stains when the vacuum moves in reverse. A HydroBurst sprayer can apply cleaning solution to tough stains, but TechRadar said the mopping power is strong enough that the sprayer is not essential.
The most notable upgrade, according to TechRadar, is the Smart Refresh Station. The base automatically refills the vacuum with cleaning solution and clean water from a 5-liter tank, TechRadar said, reducing maintenance. It also uses hot water and hot air to clean the brushroll, though the review noted that it does not remove dirty water and debris. TechRadar identified the base as large and bulky, and said dry settings do not fully dry the brushroll.
TechRadar said the price is the biggest drawback. For users willing to refill the water tank by hand, the Tineco Floor One S9 Artist Pro cleans just as well, according to the review; it usually costs $849 and was discounted to $599. TechRadar said the Floor One Station S9 Scientist Pro may handle larger debris better and is a strong choice for people with larger homes who want to clean on a single charge.
In its verdict, TechRadar said the Floor One Station S9 Scientist Pro leads the market with its battery life, streak-preventing scraper, and base that automatically refills the clean water tank with hot water and cleaning solution. The review said the vacuum performs well on fine dust and large debris, and that its design and performance will satisfy buyers who can afford the high price.
