Unofficial Super Mario Galaxy Android Port Is Pulled, With 24-Hour Download Window
Huzaifa has ended unofficial Android ports of Super Mario Galaxy and Modern Warfare 2 (2009), leaving a 24-hour download window.
Huzaifa announced the decision on the r/AndroidNativePorts subreddit. He said both projects would remain available to download via GitHub for 24 hours after the announcement, which likely gives users until around midnight ET. In the announcement, Huzaifa wrote: "This hasn't been an easy decision. I've invested a significant amount of time, effort, and technical work into these projects. However, the pressure surrounding them has taken a serious toll on my mental health and personal well-being." He also said he was rejected for a job after a background check revealed "non-corporate activities."
Galaxy-Android was released roughly two weeks ago and was described as an AI-assisted port. It had received frequent updates since its release. Super Mario Galaxy recently became the first Wii game to be fully decompiled, and a PC port quickly followed before the Android version appeared.
Android Authority said the most recent Galaxy-Android build was seriously buggy on the ANBERNIC RG 55G1, AYANEO Pocket S Mini, Samsung Galaxy S26 FE, and vivo X500 Pro Max, and recent comments suggested similar problems for other users. The report said the port had shown promise on low-end devices despite being buggy at launch.
