Video shows iPhone Duo running Shortcuts automations when opened or closed
Video shows iPhone Duo can run Shortcuts automations when opened or closed, including automatic locking on close.
Developer pdfu discovered the code last month, according to the report, but the new video is the first demonstration of the feature in action. The available triggers are when the phone is opened, when it is closed, or when either action occurs.
In the demo, YouTuber Stephen Robles uses the Open trigger to launch a productivity app automatically. Robles also confirmed in the discussion thread that the automation can be used to lock the phone automatically when it is closed, 9to5Mac reported.
Other uses raised in the thread were more playful. One commenter said they would use the door opening and closing sound from AOL Instant Messenger, which originally notified users when a contact logged on or off.
