AI Livestream 'Infinite Slop' Turns Chat Prompts into Nonstop Videos

An AI livestream turns chat prompts into endless videos, drawing 37,000 viewers on day one and igniting debate on real-time AI content creation.

The system works by letting viewers type a sentence into a chat box. The AI selects one prompt, generates a video with dialogue and sound effects, and adds it to a queue. It also attempts to link each new clip to the previous one, creating a loose storyline. Since a 15-second clip can be generated in about 9 seconds, the stream can run indefinitely as long as clips are buffered before the current one ends.

Levels, a well-known "digital nomad" developer, said he built the website remotely from a sauna using Claude Code. He registered the domain infiniteslop.ai and asked for feedback. The project quickly reached a trending topic on X, with the hashtag reading "AI Video Breakthrough Powers Endless Chat-Driven Livestreams."

The concept was first demonstrated by Rehan Sheikh, a fal engineer, who connected an AI video model to Twitch on Aug. 29, creating an "infinite interdimensional cable" show. His demonstration post gained over 5 million views in two days. Sheikh later noted that his Twitch and Kick accounts were banned, and he moved to Rumble. Twitch cited DMCA violations as a reason.

Infinite Slop relies on H3 Max, a model developed by fal Research based on MiniMax H3's open weights. A 5-second, 768p video with audio can be generated in under 3 seconds, and its throughput is about 35 times that of MiniMax's official H3 interface. The model tops leaderboards on Artificial Analysis and Design Arena for image-to-video generation.

The "infinite" aspect comes from the channel layer. Each clip is up to 15 seconds long, so the stream continues as long as new clips are generated. The chain includes moderation, queueing, voting, prompt expansion, and parallel generation. If generation slows down, buffer replays prevent black screens. Viewer input affects upcoming clips, not the one currently playing.

A notable behavior emerged quickly: viewers began spamming "banana" in the chat, causing bananas to appear in unrelated scenes, turning into a self-reproducing meme. The stream became a collective improv show, with waiting, complaints, and jokes becoming part of the entertainment. Quality varies, and storylines often derail. Levels noted that connecting the last frame of the previous clip is possible, but generation speed fluctuations make seamless transitions difficult.

Running a 24/7 AI channel is expensive. According to fal's public pricing, a 768p standard stream costs about $0.08 per second, putting a theoretical monthly cost at approximately $207,000. Public reactions are polarized. Some say this marks a new era of real-time AI video generation, while others criticize it as ultra-low-quality AI content, fitting the project's self-deprecating name "Slop." Levels himself has previously criticized AI content flooding the internet, yet now he has built a literal endless slop machine.

This is not the first attempt at endless AI programming. In 2023, "Nothing, Forever," an AI version of "Seinfeld" on Twitch, drew about 15,000 concurrent viewers, but its visuals came from fixed Unity 3D scenes. Infinite Slop is fundamentally different: every few seconds, the frame is completely regenerated with no fixed set, character, or scene library. There is no preset world, only wherever the audience's next sentence goes.

The emergence of Infinite Slop shows that AI video generation is moving from occasionally producing a watchable clip to continuously producing playable content. While viewers are unlikely to watch bananas, clowns, and frogs endlessly, the technology suggests that AI may soon create entirely new content formats that don't require a finished product—because when you open it, it is just beginning to generate.
