Aion Opens Ray7 Coupe Pre-Sales From 128,800 Yuan

Aion opened Ray7 coupe pre-sales from 128,800 yuan, with Huawei DriveONE and L4-derived driver assistance.

The Ray7 measures 4.9 meters long and has a 2.9-meter wheelbase. Its front end carries a 3.25-meter dual-ring light band, which is Aion's family signature from its 10-year renewal. The car uses CATL batteries and GAC's self-developed Magazine Battery 2.0, with 45.58 kWh and 62.98 kWh packs and a range of up to 702 km. Its drag coefficient is 0.22.

The model uses Huawei DriveONE's multi-in-one electric drive and chip-level drive-brake integration architecture, with a 100 km/h braking distance of 32.8 meters, according to Leiphone. It has high-performance front and rear stabilizer bars and a rear five-link suspension.

For intelligent driving, the Ray7 has 27 automotive-grade full-view sensors and uses a large model from the same source as WeRide's L4 Robotaxi, allowing it to reuse scene experience accumulated in L4 operations for complex urban situations such as U-turns and detours, Leiphone reported.

Aion's parent GAC has accelerated work since advancing the "Panyu Action" in 2025, improving efficiency in research and development, production and sales at the Hyptec Aion BU and speeding up product iteration and model launches, according to the report. The Ray7 will face competition from models including the Xpeng P7 and Zeekr 007, which are already in the segment. Leiphone reported that Aion must turn differences in smart cockpit and driver assistance, battery safety, charging efficiency, running costs and pricing into experiences customers can feel and trust, rather than relying on specifications alone.
