AIsphere Opens Hong Kong Office at Cyberport, Launches Cross-Industry AI Co-creation Plan
AIsphere opened its Hong Kong office at Cyberport on Oct. 13, 2026, unveiling an AI co-creation plan and signing partnerships with local technology firms, a university and youth groups.
The office began operating on the day it opened. Xie Xuzhang, co-founder and president of AIsphere, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony together with Liu Zhiyuan, Acting Director-General of Invest Hong Kong; Dr. Zheng Songyan, Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport; Yang Shuyuan, Deputy Director of the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises; and a representative of the Hong Kong Productivity Council. The company said it will recruit more local employees and continue to hold industry-specific events as it builds what it describes as a Hong Kong AI video base camp for creators, universities and industry partners.
Hong Kong's government has listed artificial intelligence as a priority in its latest Policy Address and its first five-year plan for 2026-2030, calling for AI to be applied across industries, for faster construction of computing infrastructure and for higher public AI literacy. AIsphere said it is among the first AI video model companies to set up an office in Hong Kong, and its new program invites local organizations to propose joint projects.
"Hong Kong has an international outlook, a solid research base and an active creative industry, and it is an important stop in our global development," Xie said in an interview. "As a company in the Hong Kong Investment Corporation's technology ecosystem, we hope to become an AI hub connecting industries in Hong Kong. In the future, we will hold academic forums on AI video models with local universities, and we hope to work with local companies, young people and creators to put AI video and real-time world model capabilities to use in industry and creative work."
The company signed several agreements on the opening day. In industry cooperation, it formed a strategic partnership with a spatial intelligence company to combine real-world three-dimensional reconstruction with AI video generation, exploring joint solutions for film and television, culture and tourism, and real estate, and pursuing overseas markets. In education and research, it is working with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to bring AI video creation into humanities teaching, linking it with Chinese history and culture courses to explore responsible AI and digital storytelling, with plans to extend the cooperation to talent development, student internships and joint research.
AIsphere also announced cooperation with the youth committee of the Hong Kong Fujian Sanming Association, which will involve AI science lectures, creative workshops and visits to technology companies for residents and young people in Hong Kong, as well as cross-border youth exchanges and cultural co-creation activities such as "AI Looks at Sanming" drawing on the association's networks in Fujian and Hong Kong. With the local group Hong Kong Youth New Insight, the company will explore uses of AI in community building, community services and youth exchange, including lectures in communities and schools, AI-generated anti-fraud content and support for youth exchange along the Belt and Road.
"Systematic public education and interactive experiences can improve rational understanding of AI, create a more inclusive and stable social environment for technology adoption, and strengthen the social foundation for the long-term development of AI in Hong Kong," said Pan Yuan, AIsphere's chief representative in Hong Kong.
At the opening venue, the company demonstrated PixVerse R2, which it describes as the world's first general-purpose real-time world model with scaling capability, to guests and reporters. Unlike conventional AI video that is pre-recorded, fixed in length and output in one direction, a general real-time world model generates and models images, sound and other information in real time, so that a video stream changes as a user inputs text, voice, images or operating instructions. Guests tried modifying character states, environments, camera movement and narrative branches with natural-language instructions in gaming, interactive film and digital human scenarios.
Xie told Leiphone that the company will continue to explore ways to integrate flagship models including PixVerse R2 into local industries, citing film and cultural creation, tourism, advertising and e-commerce. According to the Leiphone report, AIsphere has worked with Mango Media and other content partners in mainland China on short dramas, animation, variety-show visuals and interactive film-games, and has established cooperation with Alibaba, Giant Group, China Ruyi, BlueFocus and 37 Interactive Entertainment.
Liu Zhiyuan of Invest Hong Kong said the city's first five-year plan and its 2026 Policy Address both identify artificial intelligence as a key area, creating a favorable environment for frontier technology companies, and that AIsphere's arrival confirms Hong Kong's appeal in the AI field. He added that the company plans to take part in local talent development and community AI literacy. Dr. Zheng Songyan of Cyberport said the company's technical accumulation in video generation and real-time world models will bring new ideas and cooperation opportunities to the Cyberport community, and that he expects it to work with local enterprises, institutions and young entrepreneurs.
AIsphere was founded in 2023 and focuses on multimodal video models and real-time world models. Its self-developed PixVerse series includes the V series of general video models, the C series of film and television vertical models and the R series of general real-time world models. Its PixVerse app and open platform, together with the mainland-facing "Pai Wo AI" app, cover 177 countries and regions with more than 170 million registered users, according to the company. In July it completed a Series C round totaling nearly 3 billion yuan, with investors including CDH Investments, Alibaba, Lollapalooza Capital, Ivy Capital, Huiyuan Capital, Zhongding Capital, Mirae Asset of South Korea, Lion X Fund under the OCBC ecosystem, BlueFocus, CloudAlpha and iGlobe Partners.
