According to the announcement, the updated model also appears on CodeArena's updated cost-performance Pareto frontier, with an average total cost of only $5 per million tokens, undercutting all other models priced above $5. Qwen3.8-Max is Alibaba's most powerful large language model so far, with 2.4 trillion total parameters and a 1-million-token context window. The company said the updated version exhibits stronger agentic coding capabilities, making it better suited for real-world complex enterprise tasks, scientific research, and long-horizon operations.

The updated Qwen3.8-Max has been made available on the Qwen AI platform for API services, and Qwen Office, Qoder, and the Qwen app have all integrated it immediately.
