Priced at $1,100, the Alienware monitor is significantly cheaper than LG's comparable 5K2K UltraGear at $1,600. The review speculates that both displays may share the same LG OLED panel, making Alienware's offering a better value. The design is simple and functional, with height and tilt adjustments, which Apple's pricier Studio Display lacks. The plastic casing helps keep costs down.

It features LG's latest four-stack tandem OLED panel with an RGB stripe, delivering sharper text and eliminating purple fringing seen in older WOLED panels. Brightness ranges from 500 to 1,300 nits, with Dolby Vision support and 99% DCI-P3 coverage. An added polarizer layer reduces ambient reflections, resulting in deeper blacks even in bright rooms.

While the native 165Hz refresh rate is lower than some competitors, the dual-mode capability allows users to switch to a faster 330Hz mode for competitive shooters. To address burn-in concerns, Alienware uses tandem OLED technology to reduce electrical stress and a machine-learning algorithm that optimizes pixel energy over time, along with pixel refresh and shift routines.
