Alienware expands OLED monitor lineup as Labor Day deals cut prices on LG, ASRock and Samsung displays

Alienware announced the AW3226Q, a 32-inch 4K monitor built with an RGB-stripe tandem OLED panel, TechRadar reported. The display uses the same tandem OLED technology found in Alienware's flagship 5K2K AW3926QW, which the company recently priced at $1,099 / £999 / AU$1,999.80. The new 4K model inherits the RGB stripe layout, which improves text readability, and offers 1,000 nits peak brightness, DisplayHDR True Black 400 and Dolby Vision. TechRadar said the monitor is scheduled to arrive this fall, although no exact release date or price was announced. The publication also noted that the flagship 5K2K monitor has not launched in all regions.

For esports players, Alienware introduced the AW2527HX, a 560Hz QD-OLED monitor designed for motion clarity and low response time, TechRadar said. It is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027, and pricing has not been confirmed.

The Alienware announcements come as LG's flagship 5K2K OLED ultrawide was discounted for Labor Day. The LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B is available for $1,359 on Amazon, down from $1,999.99, a 32% reduction, according to TechRadar. The 45-inch QD-OLED monitor has a 5,120x2,160 resolution, an 800R curvature, and a dual-mode feature that switches to 1080p at 330Hz for competitive play. TechRadar noted that the display needs a powerful GPU, such as an RTX 4080 Super or RTX 5080, because 5K2K has 33% more pixels than 4K. Alienware's competing 5K2K AW3926QW carries a lower list price but does not offer the same 45-inch size or 800R curve, according to the report.

On Newegg, another Labor Day deal brings a 27-inch ASRock Phantom Gaming OLED monitor (PGO27QSA) down to $299.33 from $465, TechRadar reported. The QHD 2,560x1,440 panel has HDR10 support, a 0.03ms response time, a 240Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium, dual HDMI 2.1 and dual DisplayPort 1.4. It covers 99% of DCI-P3 with factory calibration at Delta E < 2, making it a fit for content creators. TechRadar cautioned that its 200-nit brightness is modest and there is no built-in webcam or speakers.

The Verge reported a separate deal for Samsung's 49-inch Odyssey OLED G93SD ultrawide monitor, available at Best Buy for $999.99, down from $1,699.99. The 5,120x1,440 OLED display has a 240Hz refresh rate. The Verge noted that its 110 pixels-per-inch density is not high, though standard for QHD OLED gaming monitors, and that Samsung's warranty page does not explicitly mention burn-in.

The Verge also highlighted a refurbished Alienware 16 Aurora gaming laptop at Woot, priced at $927 for new Woot customers when using the code WOOTALIEN, or $1,029 for returning customers. A new unit costs $1,099.99 at Alienware's site. The refurbished machine includes a one-year Alienware warranty, a 16-inch 1600p 120Hz screen, Intel Core 7 240H, 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. It has an Nvidia RTX 5050 GPU, which The Verge said will likely require some graphics settings tweaks for demanding games at native resolution.

TechRadar's coverage noted that Alienware's $1,099 5K2K monitor undercuts LG's 5K2K displays, though the AW3926QW has not reached all regions yet.
