The feature is being announced through a pop-up in the Android app, according to the report. Readers who want to jot down thoughts can choose a pen style, size and color, and the text flows around their notes.

Amazon previously added annotation options to its recently launched Alexa Tablets. The Kindle Android rollout extends the capability beyond those devices.

Users report seeing the feature on the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, XP-Pen Magic Note Pad, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23 and BOOX Go 7, Android Authority reported. The rollout appears to be limited to Android tablets and phones; the report said the feature has not yet reached Apple devices.
