Amazon Cuts $500 Off 2TB M5 Pro MacBook Pro and Restores AirPods, AirTag Deals Before Apple Event

Amazon cut $500 from the 14-inch 2TB M5 Pro MacBook Pro and restored holiday-level AirPods and AirTag pricing on Sept. 9, 2026, ahead of Apple's September reveal event, 9to5Mac reported.

The 14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro with 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage was listed at $2,699 shipped, down from $3,199. 9to5Mac described the offer as a straight $500 drop and said it was $100 less than the previous list price on that machine. The configuration includes an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU. A similar deal appeared for about a week in August, but the price had since been closer to $2,899, according to the report.

AirPods Pro 3 remained at $199, compared with a regular price of $249, keeping a $50 Labor Day discount after the official holiday sales ended. 9to5Mac said the price was not likely to last much longer. AirPods 4 were listed at $99, down from $129.

AirPods Max 2 returned in all five colors at $449 shipped, down from $549. The $100 discount matched the official Labor Day offer and the lowest price 9to5Mac had tracked outside Prime Day and a short August promotion. The report said neither AirPods Pro 3 nor AirPods Max 2 were expected to be updated at Apple's event that day, with AirPods Max 2 having been released earlier in the year.

AirTag 2 pricing also returned to all-time lows. A four-pack was available for $79.99 shipped, or $20 per tag, down from $99, nearly 20 percent off. A single AirTag 2 was $24 with Prime shipping, compared with a regular price of $29. 9to5Mac reported that the four-pack had briefly returned to full price before Amazon restored the deal.

Amazon also offered the 2026 M5 Max Mac Studio at $2,449.99 shipped, down from a regular $2,499 configuration, the first discount ahead of delivery later in the month. The price was nearly $50 off. Pre-order discounts continued on the new M6 and M5 Pro Mac mini, with the 2026 Mac mini M6 16GB/256GB listed at $880, down from $899. Burton Goods offered 25 percent off anything, including a metal Apple Ocean Band-style strap and leather bags.

Apple and Mr. Ternus were set to take the virtual stage that day for the September reveal event. 9to5Mac said the event was expected to include iPhone 18 Pro models, Apple's new foldable, next-generation Apple Watch releases and AirPods 5. AirPods Pro 3 did not appear likely to receive a next-generation reveal at the event.
