Amazon Drops Certified Like-New Kindle Scribe (2024) to $288 in Deal Highlighted by TechRadar
Amazon has cut a certified Like-New Kindle Scribe (2024) to $288, a deal TechRadar says is ideal for professionals who want an e-reader and handwriting tablet.
The 10.2-inch E Ink tablet features a 300ppi glare-free display, a redesigned Premium Pen with a rubber eraser tip, and Amazon's AI tools for handwriting refinement and note summarization. The device is backed by the same limited warranty as a new unit, TechRadar notes.
TechRadar's hardware editor previously purchased the same "like new" model during a big sale and found it genuinely resembled a new product off the shelf. The publication tested the 2024 Scribe over a full review cycle, reading books, taking meeting notes, and using the AI features.
Handwriting recognition was the standout, converting notes to text more accurately than the tester could read their own handwriting, even with a teenager's messier writing. The note summary tool condensed longer notebooks effectively. The hardware retains strengths of past Scribes: a 300ppi display sharper than competing writing tablets, a 12-week reading battery, and compatibility with folio cases and pens from the previous-generation Scribe.
The $72 discount represents about 20 percent off the $359.99 price, and because it is a certified Like-New unit, it already costs less than the standard $399.99 retail price. TechRadar notes that the renewed unit has been previously handled and tested, comes in 16GB storage rather than larger options, and all AI features run in Amazon's cloud rather than on the device.
