Amazon Early Prime Day Deal Drops TP-Link Deco 7 Pro BE10000 Mesh to $396.50
TechRadar reports Amazon’s Early Prime Day sale has cut the TP-Link Deco 7 Pro BE10000 three-pack to $396.50 from $469.99, offering tri-band Wi-Fi 7 coverage for larger homes.
The Deco 7 Pro three-pack is intended to spread one Wi-Fi network across a larger home or home office instead of relying on a single centrally placed router. TechRadar reported that the three units cover up to 7,600 square feet and support more than 200 connected devices. The system uses tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with stated speeds of up to 5,188Mbps on the 6GHz band, 4,324Mbps on 5GHz and 574Mbps on 2.4GHz. Each Deco unit has four 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN ports.
The mesh system includes AI-Roaming, which TechRadar said helps keep devices connected as users move around the house. It also supports wired and wireless backhaul between Deco units, HomeShield, VPN client and server support, QoS, Guest Mode and WPA3 security. TechRadar listed the bundle as best for people with a larger property, unreliable Wi-Fi coverage, many connected devices or a desire to upgrade to Wi-Fi 7. It also said the system suits users who want the flexibility of both wired and wireless backhaul.
TechRadar advised skipping the Deco 7 Pro three-pack for smaller properties where a single router already provides reliable coverage, or for users who are satisfied with their existing Wi-Fi setup. In those cases, a three-unit mesh system may be more than needed.
TechRadar also flagged a limitation. The advertised 10Gbps data transfer rate should not be confused with the speed of an individual Ethernet port. Each Deco unit has four WAN/LAN ports with a stated bandwidth of 2.5Gbps. Actual wireless speeds will vary depending on conditions, distance and obstacles such as walls. Users will need compatible hardware to make the most of Wi-Fi 7, and most internet providers will require a separate modem.
The deal was reported as part of Amazon’s Early Prime Day promotions. TechRadar’s assessment said the system provides fast whole-home Wi-Fi 7 coverage for a larger property, with capacity for many connected devices and wired networking. The listing price at the time of the report was $396.50, compared with the previous price of $469.99.
