Amazon early Prime Day deals cut prices on Sony headphones, earbuds and turntables

Amazon has discounted Sony headphones, earbuds and other audio gear ahead of its October Prime Day Big Deal Days, with US cuts on WH-1000XM6, ULT WEAR and LinkBuds Clip and UK deals on WH-1000XM5 and an Audio-Technica turntable.

Android Authority reported that the Sony WH-1000XM6 fell to $378 at Amazon from its $459.99 recommended retail price, saving $81.99, an 18 percent discount. It said the price matches the best deal seen on the flagship over-ear headphones this year. The model uses Sony's QN3 processor and a 12-microphone system for active noise canceling, supports LDAC, has a refined fit and foldable design, and is rated for around 30 hours of battery life with noise canceling on. Call quality is often highlighted as excellent.

The same outlet reported the Sony ULT WEAR at $132.95, down from $249.99, a 47 percent discount and $117 savings. Android Authority said it was the lowest price seen this year for the bass-focused over-ear headphones. The ULT WEAR has a dedicated ULT button to boost bass, active noise canceling with Sony's V1 processor and dual noise sensors, up to 30 hours of battery life with noise canceling on or 50 hours with it off, quick charging, multipoint Bluetooth, wear detection, a foldable build and app-based EQ and Adaptive Sound Control.

The Sony LinkBuds Clip open-ear earbuds dropped to $158 from $228, saving $70 or 31 percent, according to Android Authority. That price was described as the best deal seen on the model this year. The earbuds use an open-ear clip-style design with a lightweight ear-cuff fit, are rated for about eight hours per charge plus 14 hours from the case, and have IPX4 splash resistance. They support the Sony Sound Connect app with EQ controls, Find Your Own Equalizer, DSEE upscaling and 360 Reality Audio support.

TechRadar reported UK-focused early deals, including the Sony WH-1000XM5 at £192, down from £279. The publication selected it over another discounted Sony flagship model for buyers who do not need headphones that fold up small. It also listed JLab Go Pop ANC earbuds, which carry a regular recommended retail price of £29.99 but were part of an Amazon buy any 2 for £40 promotion.

TechRadar's list also included the JBL Charge 6 Bluetooth speaker and Anker Soundcore 2, along with two turntables. It favored the Audio-Technica AT-LP60xBT, which launched at £179 and was reduced to £118. The publication noted that the Audio-Technica model is older than a Sony alternative, launched in 2019 versus 2025, but said vinyl does not evolve at the same pace as wireless audio.

TechRadar said the October Prime Day event, which it also called the Prime Day Big Deal Days, had not formally begun at the time of writing, but Amazon had already discounted plenty of products. It said it was listing 12 hi-fi and audio products with links to buy. The deals span headphones, earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, desktop speakers and turntables, with prices in US dollars and pounds sterling depending on the market and retailer listing.

The early discounts put several current Sony audio products below their recommended retail prices before the main sales period. The WH-1000XM6 and ULT WEAR are over-ear noise-canceling models, while the LinkBuds Clip is an open-ear design intended to keep users aware of their surroundings. TechRadar's UK list also covers lower-cost accessories and entry-level turntables, spreading the promotions across premium and budget categories.
