Amazon Fall Prime Day Cuts AirPods Pro 3 to $179, AirPods Max 2 to $429

Amazon fall Prime Day cuts AirPods Pro 3 to $179 and AirPods Max 2 to $429, with Pro 3 near its lowest Amazon price.

9to5Mac reported that the AirPods Pro 3 discount has been tracked only once since the product’s release at a lower price on Amazon. The AirPods Max 2 deal is $30 above the lowest price the publication has ever tracked on Amazon, and it is only the second time the over-ear headphones have fallen this low since their release earlier this year. They have sold for less only once.

The publication described Amazon’s fall Prime Day as one of the best times of year to refresh AirPods. It said shoppers are still waiting for holiday-worthy pricing on Apple’s latest entry-level AirPods 5 models, but that the AirPods Pro 3 at the current price may be a better buy for most people.

Apple debuted the entry-level AirPods 5 with active noise cancellation at the same $129 price as the previous set without the feature, according to 9to5Mac. Buyers need to move up to the $149 upgraded set to get the Wireless Charging Case, which means the more advanced AirPods Pro 3 are just $30 more at the Prime Day price. 9to5Mac called that gap a no-brainer.

The article also said that the AirPods 5 will almost certainly fall closer to $100 or less later, but that history and the previous generation suggest it might not happen until well into 2027 before they drop below $99. Even then, 9to5Mac said, the AirPods Pro 3 will still offer three times better noise cancellation, longer battery life, onboard heart rate sensors, Hearing Aid features, and, in its view, a better fit.

For shoppers seeking Apple’s premium over-ear model, the fall Prime Day deal on the 2026 AirPods Max 2 brings the price to $429, down from $549. The discount applies to all five colorways. 9to5Mac noted that the price is $30 above the lowest it has ever tracked on Amazon and that the headphones have reached this level only once before since launch.

The publication also pointed to other notable headphone deals from brands such as Sony and Bose, though it focused on the Apple discounts. It said there is nothing quite like a Cupertino-designed personal listening experience, while acknowledging solid options from other brands for shoppers who are not convinced.
