Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Start Early With Kindle, AirPods and Mac Discounts

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days runs Oct. 6-7 with early discounts on Kindle, Nintendo Switch 2, AirPods and Macs for Prime members.

In the UK, TechRadar reported that Amazon's own-brand devices are a central part of the sale. The standard Kindle is down to £84.99 from £134.99, which TechRadar described as the lowest price this year, though it noted the Kindle has been as low as £69.99 previously. The latest wireless Ring Doorbell is discounted to just £2 more than its record-low price; TechRadar said its video quality, high zoom and night-vision color were impressive but that some value requires a Ring Protect subscription. The five-star Ninja Foodi Max Air Fryer is £161.45, down from £229.99, with six functions and two baskets that can sync or match.

TechRadar also flagged the Nintendo Switch 2 at a record-low price, surprising because the console recently had a price increase. A 50-inch Amazon Ember TV is at its lowest-ever price, with 4K resolution, major streaming apps and Alexa voice control. The latest Microsoft Surface Laptop, with a 13-inch display, Snapdragon X Plus processor, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, is also part of the sale. Across categories, TechRadar listed up to 67% off Fire, Ring and Blink devices; up to 40% off Ninja and De'Longhi appliances; up to 60% off Philips and Oral-B beauty products; up to 50% off fashion, Anker and Sony headphones, Fire tablets, and Shark and Dyson vacuums; laptops up to £800 off Microsoft and Asus; TVs from £129.99; and wearables from Samsung and Oura starting at £31.

In the US, 9to5Mac reported early fall Prime Day Apple discounts. AirPods Pro 3 are $179, down from $249, which the site called one of the lowest prices ever tracked; Apple's new AirPods 5 with ANC and a wireless charging case list at $149, making the Pro set $30 more. AirPods Max 2 are $429, or $120 off the $549 list price, in all five colors: Midnight, Blue, Orange, Purple and Starlight. 9to5Mac said the Max 2 had only once dropped lower, to $399 during the summer Prime Day.

Apple's new M6 Mac mini also received early discounts. 9to5Mac listed the 16GB/256GB model at $780, down from $899, and the 16GB/512GB at $950, down from $1,099, both all-time lows. The Verge reported the same base model at $779.99 on Amazon, calling it the first price drop on the model and noting that last-generation Mac mini debuted at $599 while the 2026 edition starts at $899. The Verge also said Best Buy recently restocked an M4 Mac mini with the same storage for $799, but with a less performant processor and fewer cores. 9to5Mac reported the M5 Max Mac mini with 24GB/512GB at $1,550, down from $1,699, and the M5 Max Mac Studio at $2,300, down from $2,499. Almost all M5 MacBook Air models are $200 off, with the 13-inch starting at $1,099 and the 15-inch at $1,299. It also tracked the first solid discounts on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, up to nearly $100 off, along with all-time lows on iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max cases, rare Magic Mouse discounts and the first deal on Apple's new Magic Keyboard.

TechRadar said the early Prime Big Deal Days offers were a solid preview of November's Black Friday deals, even amid price increases and stock issues in some categories. Most offers require an Amazon Prime membership, and the event officially runs for 48 hours on October 6 and 7.
