Amazon Prime Day 2026: Fire Tablets and TCL NXTPAPER Hit Lows as New Fire Max 11 Looms
Amazon's fall Prime Day 2026 is in its final 24 hours, with Fire tablets and TCL's TAB A1 NXTPAPER at record-low prices. TechRadar also reports a possible Android-powered Fire Max 11 by year-end, while 9to5Mac staff share their own deal picks.
TechRadar reported that Amazon's Fire tablets are discounted in the US and UK. In the US, the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023) is $72.99, down from $154.99, while the Harry Potter Amazon Fire HD 10 is $132.99, down from $189.99. The Amazon Fire HD 8 (2024) is $79.99, down from $129.99; the Fire HD 8 Kids (2024) with six months of Kids+ is $94.99, down from $169.99; and the same model with one year of Kids+ is $104.99, down from $179.99. In the UK, the Amazon Fire Max 11 is £169.99, down from £289.99; the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro (2023) is £114.99, down from £199.99; and the Amazon Fire HD 8 (2024) is £64.99, down from £124.99.
TechRadar said buyers might want to wait because leaks suggest a new Amazon Fire Max 11 tablet could launch by the end of the year, replacing the current model that has already been discontinued in the US. The publication said it first heard about the tablet in 2025, when reports indicated it might run Android rather than Fire OS, giving access to the Google Play Store and more apps. That report pointed to a possible $400 price tag, and TechRadar noted the ongoing RAM crisis could push the price higher. More recently, GoodEreader spotted an FCC application filed in late August, and TechRadar said products typically launch within a few months of such a filing. The latest report listed a MediaTek MT8189 chipset, 8GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage, making it a low-end to mid-range device that is still more powerful than Amazon's current Fire tablets.
Android Authority reported that Amazon dropped the TCL TAB A1 NXTPAPER Android tablet to $189.99 for Prime Day, down from its $299.99 recommended retail price. That is a $110 savings, or a 37% discount, and an all-time low. The tablet has an 11-inch matte display with 2112 x 1320 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, microSD support, a MediaTek Helio G100 chip, an 8,000mAh battery, and 20W charging support. Android Authority said it is a good fit for readers, students, and anyone who wants a more paper-like screen without paying premium tablet prices.
