Amazon sets Oct. 6-7 Prime Day sale, early TV deals start at $179.99

Amazon has announced its second Prime Day sale for Oct. 6-7 and released early TV deals, including a 65-inch LG C5 OLED at $1,599.99 and a 50-inch Insignia 4K Fire TV at $179.99. The early discounts are open to all shoppers, with no Prime membership required.

TechRadar said TV prices have not yet been affected by the global RAM and component crises that have pushed up other technology prices over the past year, allowing record-low prices on best-selling models from Samsung, LG, TCL and Hisense.

Among the early offers, LG's 65-inch C5 OLED TV is priced at $1,599.99, down from $2,699.99, while Samsung's 55-inch S90H OLED TV is $1,497.99, reduced from $1,997.99. Budget options include Insignia's 50-inch 4K Fire TV at $179.99 and TCL's 65-inch QM6K Mini LED QLED TV at $664.79.

TechRadar listed nine early Prime Day TV deals. Amazon's best-selling 40-inch 2-Series HD smart TV is $209.99. It lacks 4K resolution but offers Fire TV smart capabilities and Amazon Alexa hands-free control, TechRadar said.

The 50-inch Insignia F50 Series is $179.99. It has 4K HD resolution, DTS Studio Sound, the Fire TV operating system and a voice remote with hands-free Alexa, according to TechRadar.

Hisense's 2026 E6SR QLED Roku TV has received its first discount, TechRadar reported. The set was described as having strong brightness, colors, contrast and gaming features.

Roku's best-selling 55-inch 4K QLED smart TV is $378. TechRadar said it offers 4K resolution and a QLED display, plus an enhanced voice remote and Roku's smart TV interface.

Samsung's 55-inch S90H is a mid-range OLED in the company's 2026 lineup. It supports 165Hz and advanced AI upscaling but uses a lower-end WRGB OLED panel, according to TechRadar. In hands-on testing, TechRadar praised its anti-glare technology and overall picture quality, and said it is a solid competitor to the LG C6.

The LG C6, the successor to TechRadar's best-rated LG C5 OLED, is on sale in the 65-inch size for $1,599.99 after a $1,100 discount. TechRadar said the 2026 OLED delivers more accurate and brighter colors than the C5, with powerful contrast from its new Alpha 11 AI processor, plus gaming features and LG's smart TV platform.

The Hisense U7 Series is positioned as top TV technology for the money in a reasonably sized display, with a bright QLED panel, excellent contrast and a 165Hz refresh rate for smooth images. TechRadar said it is suited to watching sports, streaming shows and movies and playing games.

Amazon's latest Omni QLED 75-inch model is $1,049.99. TechRadar called it a brilliant budget TV with solid picture quality and strong gaming features, including 4K 60Hz, Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

For a large display, TCL's 85-inch QM6K Series is $1,056.68. TechRadar described the QM6K as a great budget mini-LED TV with vibrant picture quality and solid gaming features.

The main Prime Day sale will take place on Oct. 6 and 7. TechRadar noted that the early discounts are available to all shoppers, while Prime Day itself typically requires a Prime membership.
