AMD CEO Lisa Su expected to visit South Korea in October, Yonhap reports

AMD CEO Lisa Su is expected to visit South Korea in October, with a Seoul meeting eyed for Oct. 8 with AI chip startup chiefs and a possible meeting with the science minister, Yonhap reports.

The trip would come about seven months after Su's previous visit to South Korea in March. According to the sources, a meeting attended by Su is being considered for Oct. 8 in Seoul.

The meeting is expected to include the chief executives of major South Korean artificial intelligence semiconductor companies, among them Rebellions Inc., FuriosaAI and Mobilint. Su is also expected to meet Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon around the time of the meeting, the sources said.

During the visit, Su is also coordinating meetings with the heads of major South Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics Co.

When she traveled to South Korea in March, the AMD chief met with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong. Samsung Electronics has supplied HBM3E chips to AMD for its latest AI solutions since 2025, and the two companies have maintained a close business relationship.

The accounts of the planned schedule were attributed by Yonhap to unnamed government and industry sources. The report did not include comment from AMD, the Korean chip companies named or the science ministry.
