AMD CEO Lisa Su to Visit South Korea This Week for Partnership Talks

AMD CEO Lisa Su will visit South Korea this week, about seven months after her March trip, to meet semiconductor executives and government officials and attend AMD Gamer Day 2026 in Seoul, the company said.

The trip comes about seven months after Su's previous visit to South Korea in March, when she met Samsung Electronics Co. Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Choi Soo-yeon, chief executive of Naver Corp., the country's largest online portal operator, to discuss cooperation in artificial intelligence.

Su will be accompanied by Jack Huynh, senior vice president and general manager of AMD's Computing and Graphics Group. Both are scheduled to attend AMD Gamer Day 2026 in central Seoul on Wednesday, and a media question-and-answer session is set for the same day, according to AMD.

During the visit, Su is expected to meet executives from South Korean AI companies and government officials to discuss possible partnerships, Yonhap News reported, citing the company. AMD did not name the companies or the officials she would meet.

Samsung Electronics has supplied HBM3E chips to AMD for its latest AI solutions since 2025, and the two companies have maintained a close business relationship, according to Yonhap News.

AMD develops and manufactures central processing units and graphics processing units. It is one of the major players in the global AI semiconductor market alongside Nvidia Corp.

Su's March schedule included meetings with Samsung's chairman and Naver's chief executive, discussions the company described at the time as focused on AI cooperation. The two trips this year place South Korea at the center of AMD's outreach to the country's chipmakers and AI service providers.

The company has not disclosed a detailed itinerary for the current visit beyond Gamer Day 2026 and the media session, both scheduled for Wednesday in central Seoul.
