Anbernic prices RG DDS at $299.99, nearly double the original 3DS

Anbernic priced its RG DDS at $299.99, nearly double the original Nintendo 3DS, with a $284.99 preorder price and shipments from Dec. 10, 2026.

The RG DDS runs on a Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 processor, which Engadget said can emulate more than just 3DS titles. Anbernic will offer two configurations: one with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage and an upgraded model with 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage. Both have a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB of additional storage.

The handheld uses Android 16, which Anbernic said lets customers use the many emulator apps available. It includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 compatibility, 1080p display output, a six-axis gyroscope sensor and a 3.5mm audio jack. Engadget reported that the RG DDS will not offer the glasses-free 3D graphics of the original 3DS, though higher-resolution displays might make up for it.

Anbernic also included an AI button. According to Engadget, the company said the button will offer game guides and strategies, real-time translation during gameplay and "more fun AI features." The RG DDS will come in Glacier White, Basalt Black and Phantom Blue, confirming colors teased in a video last week.

Anbernic said the RG DDS will ship "gradually starting December 10, 2026," according to Engadget.
