Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9 rolls out for Pixel devices as Google prepares September Feature Drop

Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9 is now available for Pixel 6 and newer, focusing on bug fixes as Google prepares the September Feature Drop.

According to Android Authority, the build is almost entirely dedicated to bug fixes. Among the fixes, Google lists an issue that prevented users from switching apps by swiping the bottom gesture bar after using Circle to Search, intermittent loud noises during media playback and notification interactions, and a problem that caused devices to enter a continuous reboot loop every 20 to 30 seconds. The update also addresses taskbar icons disappearing when launching apps or entering bubble mode on foldable devices, as well as an issue that led to intermittent battery drain.

The beta comes a week after the Pixel 11 series went official, but Google’s software roadmap continues with frequent updates. Android 17 QPR1 is being prepared for the September Feature Drop, and with August already past the halfway point, there is limited time for further revisions. Android Authority notes that a Beta 10 release is possible in the coming weeks, depending on how quickly the remaining issues are resolved.
