Android Authority recommends Pixel 11, Pixel 10a and Galaxy S26 as Galaxy S26 FE alternatives

Android Authority says Samsung's $700 Galaxy S26 FE faces competition from Pixel 11, Pixel 10a and Galaxy S26.

The guide first points to the $900 Google Pixel 11, which it calls one of the best Android flagships of 2026 despite not being a major leap over its predecessor. It costs about $200 more than the FE but is described as a more premium device. Android Authority said the Pixel 11 is the only phone with built-in magnetic charging, gives buyers access to Pixel software features and will be first in line for software updates. The S26 FE uses a 50MP main camera, an 8MP telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide, while the Pixel 11 has a 48MP main, a 10.8MP telephoto and a 13MP ultrawide; in the outlet's view, Google's software optimization usually creates a more upscale camera experience. The Pixel 11's Tensor G6 chip favors battery efficiency and AI processing, whereas the Exynos 2500 in the S26 FE is stronger for gaming and raw performance. The guide noted that in day-to-day use the difference may be minor, but the smaller 6.3-inch display and less powerful processor could be dealbreakers for some buyers.

For a more affordable option, Android Authority highlighted the Google Pixel 10a, which it called one of the best mid-range Android phones and which is $200 cheaper than the S26 FE. The phone has a 6.3-inch display and a Tensor G4 chip that is less powerful than the Exynos 2500, but the report says battery life should be comparable or slightly better and that it carries most of the software and AI features found on newer Pixel flagships. Its dual-camera setup is not expected to outshine the S26 FE, but the practical performance gap during ordinary use should be small. The guide recommended the Pixel 10a for buyers who value savings more than slightly better specifications.

The guide also considered Samsung's own Galaxy S26, which costs $100 more than the FE. The two phones share a broadly similar design, but the S26 has a matte finish and swaps the FE's Exynos 2500 for a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip, which Android Authority called a significant performance upgrade. The FE has a 600mAh larger battery and a larger display, though its screen resolution is lower and its peak brightness is 1,900 nits versus 2,600 nits on the Galaxy S26. The S26 also uses a 10MP telephoto camera compared with the 8MP telephoto on the FE. Android Authority said the Snapdragon chip's efficiency could narrow the real-world difference from the FE's bigger battery.
