Android Authority Says Soulog Sense AI Note-Taker Earns Place Behind Phone Wallet
Reviewer says Soulog Sense AI note-taker hides behind a phone-mounted wallet and earns a lasting place on his phone.
The Soulog Sense weighs 46g and attaches magnetically to a phone, with a magnetic cardholder sticking over it. The review said the setup makes the device stealthier than alternatives because it sits between phone and wallet and can go mostly unnoticed when not in use. The wallet comfortably holds two cards, and the reviewer was able to fit three snugly. The cardholder was included free at the time of writing but usually costs $19.99, the review said. The reviewer also warned that the Soulog Sense has no water protection and should be kept dry, so it should be put away in rain or around liquids.
The review said the device uses USB-C charging, which it called a change from proprietary chargers common in the category. It has a fiberglass back and an aluminum body, two toggles and a clicky button, plus haptic feedback. The reviewer described the magnet as strong enough that pulling the device off could be difficult and said it should not fall off accidentally. The cardholder also drew praise for its soft leather texture and construction.
In use, the review said voice recognition was good, supported by two MEMS microphones, a voice pickup unit and AI noise reduction. The hardware and software allow the Soulog Sense to pick up audio from up to 16ft, or 5m, the review said. The reviewer initially questioned the voice pickup unit because such components often capture vibrations through bone conduction, but the device is not meant to be held near the face. The review said the technology also works for recording calls by picking up vibrations from phone speakers. The reviewer tested it during a conversation about a planned trip to Mexico City.
The review placed the Soulog Sense against other AI note-taking hardware including the Plaud Note and Pin series, Anker Soundcore Work and Vibe Dot. It said those devices are generally another item users must carry and worry about. The Plaud Note series is much smaller and thinner, but the device is not magnetic and relies on a wallet-like holder that leaves no room for cards, according to the review. The review said the Plaud NotePin and NotePin S are the most protected against liquids among main rivals, but they are only splash resistant and can handle light rain for short periods.
After a quick setup, the reviewer said the Soulog Sense was a competent device and praised its design and build quality. The review's central claim was that the device earns its place by staying attached to the phone and being available when needed, despite its larger size than the Plaud Note series. It said the Soulog Sense would stay attached 'until further notice.'
