Android Auto debuts new green icon ahead of major redesign

Android Auto has introduced a new green icon with rounder corners, signaling progress toward its upcoming redesign with widgets and video playback.

The report said the updated icon is the first visible sign that Google is making progress on the promised Android Auto makeover. In the coming months, the interface is expected to receive more fluid elements, fewer rigid shapes, widget support, and video playback, a feature that would bring it closer to Apple CarPlay.

Android Authority noted that Google has already crossed major milestones in terms of hardware launches, though the Googlebook launch remains. With that out of the way, the company could focus its energy on delivering the software upgrades it has promised. The exact rollout date for the redesign is still unclear.
