Android Auto may soon get Quick Settings-style 'Quick Tiles' with DND toggle

Android Authority reports Google is testing 'Quick Tiles' for Android Auto, bringing Quick Settings-style controls to the car interface, starting with a DND toggle.

This testing comes ahead of a major Android Auto redesign that Google has promised to deliver by the end of the year. The refresh introduces a borderless design that adapts better to various screen shapes, adds widget support, and includes a media player that no longer takes up unnecessary space. These changes are intended to make Android Auto more comparable to Apple's CarPlay, with the update expected to roll out in batches through the end of 2026.

Alongside the Quick Tiles testing, Google also switched to a new Android Auto icon earlier today, as reported by Android Authority. While the full redesign is still in the works, the company is experimenting with incremental updates as part of its ongoing development.
