Anker SOLIX E10 combines batteries, solar and a tri-fuel generator to keep homes powered through extended outages, according to Android Authority.

The core of the system is the Power Module, which stacks directly on top of up to five Battery Modules. Each battery stores 6,000Wh of energy, and a stack of five batteries holds 30kWh, an amount roughly equal to the average household’s daily consumption. The stack can be linked into the full E10 home configuration or used alone as a large uninterruptible power supply.

Energy can come from solar panels and the SOLIX Smart Generator 5500, a tri-fuel generator that runs on gasoline, propane or natural gas. The generator can operate as a conventional unit for directly connected appliances, feed power into a home or RV, or plug into the E10 Power Module to add intelligent charging and keep the home powered automatically.

The SOLIX Power Dock brings all components together and connects them to household wiring. Acting as a smart breaker box, it can serve as a primary or secondary power panel. The dock has twelve standard 120V breaker slots, some of which can be combined into 240V circuits; slots 1 and 2 plus 7 and 8 are dedicated to solar and generator connections. A separate 240V accessory load connection can forward power to a secondary breaker panel. The dock supports a 200A maximum grid connection and 200A throughput to the sub-panel, with up to 60A per 120V circuit and 125A per battery circuit. It accepts input from up to three Power Module stacks, creating a maximum battery capacity of 90kWh.

The system is engineered to handle heavy loads, delivering up to 66kW of surge power, enough to run 5-ton and 3-ton central air conditioners simultaneously. The report gives basic runtime examples: one battery should power typical LED ceiling lights, a television, a router and other small loads for about six hours before the generator kicks in. Blasting a 4,000W air conditioner along with base loads would drain a battery in about 90 minutes.

The home ran on battery until 8 a.m., when the charge level dropped to just below 45 percent; the Smart Generator started automatically and half a tank of gasoline restored the system to 85 percent. During the day, normal use including a hot water heater, a large work PC and eventually the air conditioner caused the generator to cycle, with generator power routed first to the home and any extra electricity used to recharge the batteries. The Anker app allows adjusting the generator among Quiet, Eco and Turbo modes. By the end of day one, the system topped up the batteries before overnight Quiet mode, allowing the author to repeat the pattern through the second day of the outage.
