Anker’s smart-display wall chargers show real-time charging data and a playful blob
Anker has introduced wall chargers with a smart display that shows real-time charging data and battery progress, plus a touch-sensitive animated blob, according to Engadget.
Anker says charging is dynamic, with battery level and temperature affecting charging speed, and having more information removes guesswork about why a device might be behaving in a certain way. If power output is unexpectedly low, for example, users can see whether overheating or a faulty cable is the cause. The smart display is therefore designed to simplify troubleshooting.
The display also features an animated digital blob, described by Engadget as an “adorable little charging buddy.” The blob reacts with cute animations such as taking a nap or swinging a baseball bat. Because the plug is touch-sensitive, patting it once on the head makes it look happy, while aggressively tapping the top causes it to appear unsteady with swirly eyes.
The chargers use several Anker proprietary features. PowerIQ, now standard across Anker’s chargers and power banks, allocates power based on the connected device; an iPhone 17 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy S26 require different wattage to charge at top speed. Most newer Anker devices also include ActiveShield, which combines temperature sensing with a tuner chip to actively adjust current. The latest version of ActiveShield performs 3 million temperature checks daily.
The 45W Nano Charger, one of the models in the smart-display lineup, has a dedicated Care Mode. Designed to optimize long-term battery health by reducing stress, Care Mode is ideal for overnight use. It slows charging to a more gradual rate, lowering temperatures by up to nine degrees Fahrenheit compared with standard 45W chargers.
