Anthom launches Homey Portal, a smart home controller with a rotary dial

The Portal can sit on a desk or hang on a wall. Each unit is assigned to a specific zone in the home, such as the living room or kitchen, and can be used by anyone in that room. The rotary ring changes brightness or volume, while taps and drags on the touchscreen handle on/off, lighting moods, track changes, color and temperature, and thermostat settings. The controller supports devices connected through the Homey platform, including Philips Hue and IKEA lights, Sonos and Denon Heos audio systems, Nest, Tado and Honeywell thermostats, and energy meters from Shelly and HomeWizard.

It can also serve as an energy dashboard, displaying real-time and historical electricity usage for its zone, and can show custom notifications, yes-or-no prompts and live video feeds from doorbells and cameras through Homey Flow. Because it relies on Homey’s existing ecosystem, users can install multiple Portals around the house, though the price makes that a costly setup.

Pre-orders for the first production batch are open now at €249 (~$289); the regular price will be €299 (~$347), and orders are expected to ship before the end of 2026. Each Portal ships with a desk stand and wall mount. It works with Homey Cloud, Homey Pro, Homey Pro mini and Homey Self-Hosted Server. Anthom said Homey itself supports more than 70,000 devices from over 2,000 brands.
