Anthropic Launches Claude Duet as 1Password Expands AI Agent Credential Access
Anthropic launched Claude Duet; 1Password unveiled secure login access for AI agents including Muse and Grok Bot.
Anthropic describes Claude Duet as an agent that sends users a short morning brief on important items across connected apps, monitors those apps during the day and messages users only when something needs attention. It can take on administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and more complex work such as building dashboards with dozens of tools, creating financial or sales forecasts, prototyping and building web apps.
Slashdot, citing The Verge, reported that Claude Duet pulls in memory, skills and connected apps from Claude and has a virtual machine with a browser for completing work. Before a major step such as sending a payment or deleting something, Claude Duet messages the user for approval. Anthropic said the product has a new dedicated classifier and safety system prompt designed to reject requests to share the strictest tier of information, such as credit card numbers.
Anthropic said Claude Duet is currently an early version and still might misread a thread or miscalibrate what is urgent. The company also said it is not as strong at personal errands such as booking tickets.
Separately, 9to5Mac reported that 1Password launched 1Password for Agents, a platform for safely using logins with AI agents. 1Password said the platform integrates with agents including Meta's Muse, Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT Work and Dots to keep credentials and secrets secure while agents complete tasks. The company said 1Password connects to a user's personal agents, whether one or multiple, so they can work without seeing the user's passwords.
At launch, 1Password for Agents works with Meta Muse and SpaceXSI's Grok Bot, according to 9to5Mac. The company said more integrations are coming with OpenAI, Anthropic and other partners. There is currently a waitlist to sign up for the new platform.
9to5Mac also reported that 1Password launched a special integration with Claude in July. The new agent platform extends that work as AI agents take on more tasks that require access to accounts and sensitive information.
