Apple Announces Japan-Only Apple Watch Activity Challenge for Oct. 10

Apple will hold a Japan-only Apple Watch Activity Challenge on Oct. 10, requiring a 30-minute workout for an award.

Apple described the event as a shared effort. “Thousands of participants, all on the same team. On October 10, log any workout of at least 30 minutes to earn this award,” the company said.

Users can complete the challenge in any workout app that logs data to Apple’s Fitness app. If they do, they unlock the virtual achievement on their iPhone, Apple Watch, and in Apple’s Messages app. The achievement also gives access to exclusive stickers for Messages, FaceTime, and other uses.

The challenge can also be completed in Apple Fitness+, Apple’s workout service, which offers a variety of content categories. Apple Fitness+ officially launched in Japan earlier this year.

Apple announced the challenge on Oct. 6, four days before the event date, 9to5Mac reported. It is available exclusively to users in Japan.
