Apple Arcade Adds Five Games, Including Terraria+ and Pusheen's Place
Apple Arcade added five games on October 1, among them Terraria+ and Pusheen's Place, with three titles arriving as ad-free, purchase-free versions of existing App Store releases.
Three of the additions were already sold on the App Store and now join Apple Arcade in versions that carry no advertising and no in-app purchases. The other two were made for the service. Pusheen's Place is exclusive to Apple Arcade, according to Apple, and lets players build what the company calls a cozy Pusheen paradise, collect more than 100 cats, and decorate rooms for characters including Pusheenicorn and Pancake Pusheen. It also includes the mini-games Snack Stack, Parfait Pop and Batch Match.
Terraria+ brings the sandbox action-adventure to the service with the Bigger & Boulder 1.4.5 update, which adds a Dead Cells crossover and characters Apple describes as Pals from Palworld. Up to seven players can team up through Game Center or local Wi-Fi and explore more than 20 biomes.
Touchgrind BMX 2+ is a physics-driven BMX stunt game that uses two-finger controls, a scheme Apple says is intended to make each trick feel real.
Another of the five is a survivors-style action game in which players fight successive waves of zombies, unleash special moves and take randomized upgrades. It offers more than 20 playable characters, among them Kunio and Riki, and allows players to recruit up to two companions.
The fifth title is an Arcade edition of a puzzle game that Apple says has stumped and delighted more than 400 million players worldwide.
Apple Arcade is sold as a standalone service at $6.99 a month or as part of the Apple One bundle. The catalog includes access to more than 200 games without ads or in-app purchases.
