Apple brings Wi-Fi 7 to Mac mini and Mac Studio, lists fully supported devices
Apple updates Mac mini and Mac Studio with Wi-Fi 7 support, and publishes a list of devices fully supporting the new standard.
The list of fully supported devices differs from Apple's broader compatibility list. Wi-Fi 7 is backward-compatible, meaning devices with only Wi-Fi 6E can still join Wi-Fi 7 networks and use the 6 GHz band where available, but they do not support all Wi-Fi 7 features.
As of August 2026, Apple's official list of devices with full Wi-Fi 7 support includes: MacBook Pro with M5 Pro or M5 Max chip or later, MacBook Air with M5 chip or later, Mac mini with M5 Pro chip or later, Mac Studio with M5 Max chip or later, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max or later (excluding iPhone 16e and iPhone 17e), iPhone Air, iPad Pro with M5 chip or later, and iPad Air with M4 chip or later.
Apple noted that Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 features operating on the 6 GHz band are available only in regions that permit unlicensed Wi-Fi use in that spectrum. If regulatory approval is unavailable, devices use only the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for Wi-Fi.
