Apple Creator Studio Adds MotionVFX to Final Cut Pro and AI Across Apps
Apple announced an update to Creator Studio that adds MotionVFX tools to Final Cut Pro and AI features across its creative and productivity apps. The update is timed to the new M6 iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro and will be free in November for existing subscribers.
Apple said in a press release that the MotionVFX integration, following its acquisition of the company earlier this year, gives editors rapid access to extensive professional video effects and content. Final Cut Pro users get graphics, themes, titles and transitions, along with specialized rotoscoping and color grading tools. The Content Hub within Final Cut Pro also includes curated stock videos, photos and backgrounds for use in projects.
Apple also changed workflows across the suite. An image taken from a timeline in Final Cut Pro can now be opened in Pixelmator Pro for edits, and changes are applied directly to the original project without reimporting the edited version. Users can also detach clips from the primary timeline in Final Cut Pro and place them anywhere.
AI features appear across the apps. Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro gain text-to-image generation and editing tools. In Pixelmator Pro, a user can draw a circle over an area of an image and write a prompt describing the edits to apply.
In Logic Pro, Apple worked with OpenAI on an assistant that can edit existing projects, start new songs and generate vocal tracks from text prompts. The same chatbot can be summoned in Keynote, Pages and Numbers for app-specific tasks such as animating slides or organizing data.
Smaller additions include more keyframe easing options in Final Cut Pro and the ability to isolate or swap drum parts with Stem Splitter in Logic Pro. To use the Logic Pro assistant in beta on Mac, users need an Apple Intelligence-supported Mac running macOS 27 Golden Gate or later. The AI tools must be built into an iPhone, iPad or Mac running the latest software to use the chatbot in Keynote, Pages and Numbers. Some Final Cut Pro features require Apple silicon, and Macs running the Apple Creator Studio version of the program need macOS 26.6 or later.
The updates will be free in November for existing subscribers. Apple Creator Studio costs $13 a month or $129 a year, and new subscribers can try it with a one-month free trial. Three free months are included with a new Max or certain iPads. Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and Pixelmator Pro can also be purchased individually for $300, $200 and $50, respectively.
