Apple HomeView Gets First Amazon Pre-Order Discount, Adds Third-Party Widgets

Apple's HomeView gets first Amazon pre-order discount; it will run third-party iPhone widgets without an App Store.

The Amazon discount applies to the Space Gray and Starlight versions of HomeView, while the Wall Mounted edition remains at full price. The markdown is small, but it is lower than pricing at other retailers. Because Apple is not accepting trade-ins for the new product category, pre-ordering through Amazon offers a slight cost advantage over buying directly from Apple, 9to5Mac reported.

On the software side, Apple's developer agreement states that an iOS application widget may be made available on CarPlay and Apple HomeView. The same framework that allows iOS widgets to appear on CarPlay will let those widgets run on HomeView, unless developers explicitly exclude them. Widgets first came to CarPlay with iOS 26 last year and include third-party options from Amazon, ChatGPT, Instagram, and others. Third-party CarPlay audio and video apps will also be available on HomeView, likely including services such as Spotify, Audible, YouTube, and Netflix. Apple did not say much about third-party app support when it unveiled HomeView, and the new documentation provides more detail about how the device will work with iPhone apps.

HomeView pre-orders start at $289 for select models. In the same Apple product cycle, the company has opened pre-orders for the new HomePod mini 2 and a next-generation Apple TV 4K priced at $299. For users who do not want to buy a new Apple TV, the new Apple TV Siri Remote (4th generation) is available for $59 and is compatible with the new Apple TV 4th Gen, Apple TV HD, and the previous-generation Apple TV 4K.

Other Apple accessory deals are also live. AirPods Pro 3 are $199, down from $249, and AirPods Max 2 are $429, down from $549. The 2026 Magic Keyboard is $79.99, compared with its $99 list price. Apple's official iPhone 18 Pro cases are discounted by up to 25%, with the Olive Silicone Case with MagSafe at $36.75, down from $49. Other iPhone 18 Pro cases, including TechWoven and Clear models, are also reduced.
