Apple Indie Games Week Highlights Seven Titles as No Man's Sky Hits iPhone and iPad

Apple's App Store Indie Games Week spotlights seven indie titles, including No Man's Sky, launching on iPhone and iPad on October 28.

Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray said in a blog post that the mobile version is essentially the full No Man's Sky experience, not a Lite edition. It includes expansions such as last year's Voyagers update. The company likens the iOS release to the game's initial Switch launch, where it later added features based on player feedback. Murray said Hello Games will support iOS in a similar way based on feedback and player numbers. The game will be playable on iPhone 11 and 3rd generation iPad Air and above. The download is about 5GB. It has newly designed touch controls and supports controllers, screen casting, and mouse-and-keyboard on iPad. Murray said Hello Games worked on battery life and thermal performance for long play sessions. It will be free to try at launch, though full pricing has not been announced. Engadget reported that pre-orders begin today.

No Man's Sky first launched a decade ago and has since been released on Mac, PC, consoles, and VR. The Verge reported that the recent Cosmos update in September expanded space with more to explore. The iOS version joins that long list of platforms.

Apple's Indie Games Week also features Sifu, Vampire Crawlers, Little Kitty, Big City, 9 Kings, Dome Keeper, and Yes, Your Grace 2: Snowfall. 9to5Mac reported that Apple is highlighting seven titles that launched recently or will soon. Engadget reported that Sifu's iOS version has a reworked camera system and touch controls, and ran without issue on an iPhone 16. Vampire Crawlers is a tactical card-based spin-off of Vampire Survivors. Dome Keeper is a roguelite mixing mining and tower defense. Yes, Your Grace 2: Snowfall, 9 Kings, and Little Kitty, Big City are available for iPhone and iPad now. App Store editors also curated other indie games and a separate guide for titles on Mac.

Apple's head of App Store Worldwide, Carson Oliver, said in a press release that indie games push creative boundaries and that the App Store gives bold ideas a global stage. He said Apple is thrilled with the games launching this week and praised their artistry, design, and stories.
