Apple Intelligence to Launch in China in December; Changxin Technology Loses 1 Trillion Yuan in Market Value

Apple Intelligence is expected to launch in China in December with Baidu and Alibaba as partners. Changxin Technology's market value fell by 1 trillion yuan in two months, and ByteDance is in talks with MediaTek for AI chips.

Baidu's software will be embedded in Siri and Visual Intelligence, as confirmed by third-party developers' analysis of iOS 27 Beta 2 firmware, which revealed a module named Baidu Visual Search. Alibaba will integrate AI capabilities into Apple Intelligence for Chinese users across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS, providing text and image understanding and content generation. The license obtained on September 29 covers both Apple Intelligence and Alibaba's AI models, including Tongyi Wanxiang and Qwen, according to domestic media.

Changxin Technology's market value has fallen by 1 trillion yuan in about two months. On October 15, its stock closed at 43.59 yuan per share, with total market value dropping below 3 trillion yuan, and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China regained the top spot on the A-share market by market value. Changxin had peaked at 4.2 trillion yuan on August 17. From August 17 to October 14, its stock fell 25.57 percent, and market value dropped 1.07 trillion yuan. ByteDance is in advanced talks with MediaTek to purchase custom data center chips, known as ASICs, according to Kuai Technology. If a deal is reached, ByteDance would become MediaTek's second major ASIC customer after Google. The move would help MediaTek expand its data center business, compete with Qualcomm and Broadcom, and reduce reliance on smartphone chips. ByteDance is increasing its AI infrastructure investment as it seeks alternatives because it cannot obtain the most advanced AI chips from Nvidia and domestic suppliers like Huawei cannot meet all demand. Earlier this year, ByteDance made a similar procurement arrangement with Qualcomm for millions of AI chips.

DeepSeek issued compensation to API users after a service failure on October 15. The company apologized and returned the full amount of users' consumption from October 8 to 14 as credits. Some users received hundreds or even over 3,000 yuan in compensation. DeepSeek did not explain the cause of the outage. The platform has experienced at least 18 major service anomalies in 2026, averaging one to two per month, with at least seven in September, according to First Financial and Kuai Technology.

Alibaba is increasing its investment in AI hardware brands. The company is reportedly in contact with a batch of AI hardware brands, offering angel investments and potentially linking with domestic and international e-commerce businesses to support global market expansion. Alibaba's AliExpress will hold its annual and Double 11 merchant conference on October 19, and Tmall appears in the public agenda. Multiple sources suggest Alibaba may announce a domestic and overseas linkage plan for AI hardware brands at the event.

Kling AI launched its new-generation video generation model, Kling 4.0, on October 15. The model focuses on high-dynamic, strong camera movement scenes, with breakthroughs in three areas: more stable large-amplitude dynamics, native generation of up to 30 seconds, and support for up to 15 reference materials and 10 keyframes. The company said professional creators need stable delivery of key shots that determine work quality, not just occasional impressive images.

Huawei's semiconductor EDA chief scientist Huang Yu said at the 2026 Bay Area Chip Expo that the biggest challenge for the Tao's Law is EDA tools, according to IT Home. He described four layers: the device layer, which optimizes transistor structure and interconnection; the link layer, which he called Huawei's biggest innovation; the chip layer, involving software-hardware co-design; and the system layer, covering super nodes and cabinet interconnection.
