Apple Opens iPhone 18 Pro, AirPods 5 and Apple Watch Pre-Orders as Retailers Discount New Hardware

Apple began taking pre-orders Monday for the iPhone 18 Pro, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Apple Watch Series 12, while Walmart, Amazon and carriers already list cuts on the new devices and on older models such as the AirPods Pro 3.

The unlocked iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max at $1,299 on Apple's own store, both offered in Black, Burgundy, Glacier and Silver. Carriers list the iPhone 18 Pro from $32 a month and the Pro Max from $34 a month at AT&T and Verizon. Walmart, selling through T-Mobile, advertises the iPhone 18 Pro at $867 down plus $11.85 a month, and separately at $12 a month with $867 down; the Pro Max is listed there at $32 a month with $937 down.

AirPods 5 are available for pre-order from $129, with delivery expected Friday. Apple has put active noise cancellation in both AirPods 5 models, whereas with the AirPods 4 only the higher-end set had ANC. The step-up AirPods 5, which adds on-stem volume controls and a wireless charging case, costs $149. The AirPods Pro 3 remain discounted at $199, down from a regular $249, leaving them $50 above the entry AirPods 5 and $70 above the $149 version. Apple lists the Pro 3 with a sealed fit, up to three times better noise cancellation, onboard heart sensing and longer battery life than the non-Pro models. AirPods Max 2 are listed at $449, down from $549, and AirTag 2 is back at $20 each.

Apple Watch Series 12 pricing runs from $399 for the 42mm case and $449 for the 46mm case. GPS plus Cellular versions are $490 and $540 against regular prices of $499 and $549. Titanium models start at $699 for the 42mm case, while the 42mm titanium with a Natural Milanese Loop is $729 from $749 and the 46mm titanium is $729. A 46mm ceramic version is listed at $949.

Amazon has cut M5 MacBook Air prices, led by a $150 reduction on the Midnight model in the report's headline. The 13-inch M5 MacBook Air with 24GB of memory and a 1TB drive is $1,649, down from $1,799; the 16GB/1TB configuration is $1,449 from $1,599, and the 16GB/512GB version is $1,199 from $1,299. A 15-inch model that was discounted earlier in the morning rose in price again, which 9to5Mac described as expected. M6 Mac mini pre-orders are also continuing.

Among accessories, Anker's 25W 3-in-1 Smart Display Charging Station is 40 percent off and its 25W 3-in-1 Foldable MagSafe Charger is up to 35 percent off. The report also cites what it calls the lowest price so far on the least expensive 2026 Apple Studio Display, without giving a figure.

9to5Mac states that it does not know how long the $50 AirPods Pro 3 discount will last.
