Apple Opens iPhone Duo Preorders at $1,999 as Delivery Dates Slip to 2027
Apple opened iPhone Duo preorders on October 16 at $1,999, with launch on October 23, as delivery estimates slipped into 2027.
The Duo has a 5.4-inch outer screen and unfolds to a 7.6-inch Super Retina XDR inner display. It runs the A20 Pro chipset, comes in Star White and Night Sky, and is priced at $1,999 for 256GB, $2,199 for 512GB, $2,599 for 1TB and $3,199 for 2TB. It is IP68 rated, with Ceramic Shield 2 on the back and Ceramic Shield on the front. It lacks Face ID but has a Touch ID sensor on its edge. Apple Pencil support will arrive later this year through a software update and will require an Apple Pencil (USB-C), with use on both the outer and inner displays. Reports differ on camera details: The Verge says the Duo uses the same 48-megapixel fusion camera as the iPhone 18 Pro without variable aperture, while 9to5Mac describes a dual rear camera with 48-megapixel Main and 48-megapixel Ultra Wide cameras, plus a Center Stage front camera and a FaceTime camera under the inner display.
