In iOS 27, users can swipe between payment cards directly on the main Apple Pay interface. They can also tap a card to open a grid-style view that displays all available Apple Pay cards in one place, 9to5Mac reported.

Apple said the updated design allows users to "seamlessly swipe to switch cards" and surfaces important information about eligible cards in Apple Wallet, including rewards, balances, debit account balance, pay later options, and more, so they can make more informed payment decisions.

Merchants and developers control what appears on the Apple Pay payment sheet, depending on the specific information they need to complete an order, according to the report.

The iOS 26 Apple Pay checkout flow had been criticized for being unintuitive. Users often tapped the wrong thing when trying to switch cards; the instinct was to tap the card itself, but in iOS 26 that action opened the address-editing interface. To switch to a different card, users had to tap a separate button at the bottom of the screen. iOS 27 streamlines this process and makes it clearer, 9to5Mac said.
