Apple releases macOS 27 Golden Gate with Apple Intelligence across Mac apps

Apple has released macOS 27 Golden Gate, adding Apple Intelligence features to Photos, Safari, Shortcuts and Finder. The update is supported on all Apple Silicon Macs.

In Photos, Apple has added multiple Apple Intelligence-powered editing tools. Spatial Reframing lets users change the perspective of an image after it has been taken. Extend expands an image beyond its original edges. A more powerful version of Clean Up can remove objects and people from an image after the fact.

Safari gains several intelligence features. Users can automatically group tabs by topics. A new Notify Me feature sends push notifications when changes are made to a website, which 9to5Mac says is useful for tracking price changes or restocks of sold-out products. Describe an Extension allows users to create a custom Safari extension using a natural language prompt. 9to5Mac described this as possibly its favorite feature in macOS 27.

Shortcuts in macOS 27 can be created more easily with natural language. Users can describe the shortcut they want, and Shortcuts will automatically create it. They can then iterate on the shortcut using natural language, while manual creation remains available.

Finder also receives Apple Intelligence features. When naming a folder or file, macOS 27 can suggest a name based on the content of the document or file.

The update is available to Mac users everywhere and is supported on all Apple Silicon-powered Macs. 9to5Mac highlighted the Photos, Safari, Shortcuts and Finder additions as some of its favorites.
